Presenting a rare and dazzling Persian miniature painting you will not find elsewhere. It is a handmade reproduction from the Haft Awrang of Jami attributable to 16th century artist Muzaffar Ali.

The Haft Awrang is a compilation of seven masnavi poems and constitutes the major poetical work of Jami (d. 1492) composed in the second half of the 15th century.

Muẓaffar ʿAlī,  (flourished c. 1540—c. 1576), Persian miniaturist and calligrapher known best for his elegant human figures in rich, lyrical settings, who painted during the great flowering of Persian painting under the Ṣafavid Shahs.

It depicts Qays’s (later known as Majnun) first visit to Layla’s family encampment. Layla is shown emerging from her tent in the foreground.  The colorful artwork is full of actual and ornamental birds and beasts and the hunt for these could prove endless in this densely packed composition.

The modern artist has executed the painting in minute delicacy with a marked attention to the dazzling melee of beasts, camels, tents, awnings, and some of the other objects common in Iranian art.

This is Persian style art at its finest. The handmade artwork has been brilliantly achieved with use of meticulous brushwork and fine watercolors, ink and gold.
