Presenting a modern handmade illustration from Jami's masterpiece, Haft Awrang (seven thrones), attributable to 16th century artist Mirza 'Ali. (The original is in the Freer Gallery of Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.).

The Haft Awrang is a compilation of seven masnavi poems and constitutes the major poetical work of Jami (d. 1492) composed in the second half of the 15th century.

It is titled, "A Father's Discourse on Love". The theme of the picture set amid a colorful setting is the conversation between a father and his eager son, who asks for--and is given--a discourse on love.

The modern artist has executed the painting in minute delicacy with a marked attention to the human subjects, flora, fauna, and outdoor setting .

This is Persian style art at its finest. The superb handmade artwork has been brilliantly achieved with use of meticulous brushwork and fine watercolors.
