Let your walls be a reflection of your artistic tastes with this stunning miniature painting of Vishnu Vishvarupa displayed in a visible corner of your living room.

The cosmos as body was conceived in the ancient Hindu Vedas and became linked with Yoga practice in subsequent Hindu traditions. Between the third century BCE and the fifth century BCE the great deity Vishnu came to be known as Master of Yoga when he manifested himself as the universe.

Presented here (as the modern take of the work of an eighteenth-century artist) is a striking painting which shows the blue-skinned Hindu god Vishnu with an orange scarf in his form as the Universal Man or Vishvarupa, which means ‘all forms’. The small figures painted on his body refer to his role as encompassing all of creation. He has four arms, each holding one of Vishnu’s attributes; a conch shell, a lotus flower, a mace and the circular weapon called Sudarshana chakra (meaning ‘beautiful discus’).

With its delicate line, luscious sherbet colors, and especially Vishnu’s gentle expressions, the painting conveys the god’s compassion toward his devotees.

Crafted entirely by hand, the modern artist has created an inspirational painting that revolves round the subtle yet powerful depiction of the Hindu God. Every brush stroke and detail of the painting signifies the hard work and passion that goes into creating such mesmerizing fusion of realism and miniature style of paintings.
