You will delight in the richness and depth of this stunning Parchin Kari marble inlay artwork which is brought to you by the descendants of the artisans who built the Taj Mahal.

The term Parchin Kari is used to refer to the skilled inlaying of colorful stones into white marble on a small and detailed scale.

Semi precious stones such as carnelian, agate, mother of pearl, lapislazuli etc are crafted using a moving metal wheel as an abrasive surface. Patterns are drawn out on the white marble surfaces using henna dye, before craftsmen chisel out sockets in which the stones are then glued and fitted together.

Even greater detail is achieved by carefully choosing pieces of each inlaid stone with differing tones. This variety of hues enable the craftsmen to give the impression of shading and depth in each flower.

The Parchin Kari at the Taj Mahal is one of the finest quality examples of the era. At the Taj the technique is used most spectacularly to depict well observed blooms and flowering plants. Similar to the Italian technique known as 'Pietra Dura', a variety of colored precious stones were used to achieve stunning depictions of the colorful flowers of India.

Buy today this unique Parchin Kari marble artwork whose incredible level of design detail and range of vibrant color will bring a sparkle to your home decor. It will allow you to experience a modern version of an historical art form.
