Fill your home with the beauty of this exquisitely detailed & stunningly beautiful hand-made bird miniature from the western state of Rajasthan, India.

This image was painted by famous Jaipur wild life miniature artist, Mr. Narendra Katara.

The precise manner in which the splendidly patterned bird is depicted parallels a tradition of descriptive painting that had been practiced at many royal courts in India since the sixteenth century.

The great egret, also known as the great white heron, is a large widely distributed bird, with four subspecies found in Asia, Africa, the Americas, and southern Europe. Distributed across most of the tropical and warmer temperate regions of the world, it builds tree nests in colonies close to water. The great egret feeds in shallow water feeding mainly on small mammals, and occasionally small reptiles and insects. It stands still and allows the prey to come within striking distance of its bill, which it uses as a spear.
