You’ll love this beautiful and unique Hindu deity painting of Dakshinamurti who will brighten all types of your knowledge.
Dhakshinamurti is an aspect of the Hindu god Shiva as a guru (teacher) of all types of knowledge. This form represents Shiva as a teacher of yoga, music, and wisdom, and giving exposition on the Sastras (specialized knowledge in a defined area of practice). He is worshipped as the god of wisdom, complete and rewarding meditation. As per scriptures, if a person doesn't have a Guru then they can consider and worship Lord Dhakshinamurti as their Guru. Eventually they will be blessed with a human Self-Realized Guru, if they are worthy.
The name comes from the Sanskrit, dakshina, meaning “southern” or “right”; and murti, meaning “incarnation,” “personification” or “image.” It is usually translated as “the one who faces south.” In Hinduism, south represents death. It is not just physical death, but the death of ignorance and, therefore, represents change and transformation. Considered the ultimate guru, Dakshinamurti has dominion over death, offering immortality through self-knowledge, or atma-jnana.
